Facebook first launched live-streaming onto their platform in 2016. The company initially wanted to provide a way for users to interact with each other live and feel connected in a more personal manner. CEO Mark Zuckerberg hoped that the live broadcasting would ultimately create “new opportunities for people to come together.”
Unfortunately, many have misused the new feature. Instead of broadcasting uplifting content, people have instead been filming the opposite. There has been a growing trend of Facebook users broadcasting incredibly inappropriate content such as assaults, suicides and even murders.
One recent live-stream got so out of hand that one teenage girl and two teenage boys were arrested. The three were taken into custody for allegedly beating a victim after forcing her to perform oral sex.
Three teenagers were recently arrested for broadcasting incredibly inappropriate content on Facebook live.
One teenage girl and two teenage boys allegedly forced a woman to perform oral sex on camera and attacked her afterwards. The shocking video was available for all to see.
After a video of the attack went viral, Hayleigh Alexis Hudson, Ezzie Johnson and Kadari Fabien Booker were all taken into custody.
According to WLOX-TV, Hudson turned herself in Wednesday night around 7 p.m., Johnson was arrested at about 8 p.m. and Booker was brought in later that night.
All three teenagers are currently in Harrison County Jail with high-valued bonds.
Before the disturbing video was taken down, it generated more than 47,000 views. The sexual assault shocked the community in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Although the video of the sexual assault has permanently been removed from the Internet, the video of the beating can still be found.
The victim was first abused in the bathroom, when she was filmed by Johnson while allegedly being forced to perform fellatio on another man. Police have not confirmed that Booker was the other man.
While she was performing oral sex, others who were physically there stood by to watch.
At some point, everyone left the scene and the victim locked herself alone in the bathroom.
