Teaching information and community technology (I.C.T.) to students is difficult enough when you have computers. After all, technology is advancing faster than many of us can keep up. But this hasn’t stopped Owura Kwadwo, a teacher from Kumasi, Ghana, from passing on the knowledge to his students. But what makes this teacher so unique? Well, maybe it’s the fact that he’s teaching I.C.T. without the actual use of any form of computer technology. Yet somehow, he’s successfully managed to get his students to understand and as soon as the powers that be at Microsoft took notice, they decided to give Kwadwo a helping hand.

As a teacher, Kwadwo knows that you sometimes have to come up with creative ways to overcome challenges, especially when you’re trying to teach information and communications technology to kids without an actual computer.

When it came time to teach his kids about Microsoft Word, Kwadwo relied on his artistic skills.

He drew a Microsoft Word page on the chalkboard to illustrate how the popular word processing program worked. He even posted on Facebook that teaching I.C.T. on the board “is very funny.”
